The 2016 Floods cost our area an estimated $8.3 billion in damages.
Covington's critical issues of flood mitigation, drainage projects, and transportation must be met head-on and with urgency. I'm confident that my ability to forge and leverage relationships between parish & city officials, private citizens & other entities to elevate the need for functional improvements that enhance our overall quality of life.
As a small business owner based in Covington, I am committed to sustainable economic growth that is manageable for both current and future citizens. With our population growth rate currently at 6.53%, my strategy involves prioritizing a proactive-thinking business model that can effectively meet Covington's commercial & infrastructure requirements without overwhelming our resources.
47% of Covington households operate two or more vehicles daily, so transportation alleviation are a bedrock of my campaign. I am proud to support initiatives for Covington's first responders through continuous training and tools to safeguard both themselves and our community. This commitment extends to promoting adherence to zoning & traffic rules in residential areas, emphasizing the safety of children, pedestrians, and the safe integration of alternative vehicle traffic - bicycles, golf carts, etc. - to create a secure and accessible environment for all residents.
Covington's population growth is driven in large part by our quality-of-life, particularly for families. As a husband, father, and volunteer coach I believe we can do more to offer comparable facilities, programs, & resources as our neighboring municipalities. Appointed by Parish President Cooper to my second term as Board Member of STP Recreation District #10, I have seen first-hand how this can promote community and civic responsibility. Lowered criminal incident & recidivism rates, tech-reduced entertainment, & positive health outcomes are all possible with your vote in 2024.
